Low-Back Pain
There are different types of back pain and various reasons for low-back pain. You may have constant, dull aches in your lower back region. Maybe you have pain that radiates into your glutes. There are pains that start in the low back and shoot down into the legs. Reasons for low back pain could be an injury to a muscle (strain) or ligament (sprain). Tension from improper lifting, poor posture, lack of regular exercise or arthritis are also common causes for pain in the low back area.  Trigger points in the gluteus maximus muscle have been known to be cause for pain and problems with the low back. Massage therapy has been proven to provide substantial healing and pain relief for people suffering from low back pain caused by muscle tension and strain.

Low-Back Body Work Session
This session can be done fully clothed (in loose clothing like sweats or shorts, please no jeans) or as a typical massage session with oil. In this session I focus on specific muscle, joint and tendon problems around the lower back and hips. I will typically work the glutes, piriformis, hips, hamstrings, IT-band, sacrum and lowback. Everything is connected after all and it all works together. I use compression, active release techniques, light stretches and mobilization and have been very successful in my 10 years as a massage therapist at relieving low-back pain. I often here things like “wow, I am amazed by how much relief I have in my low back” and “I can feel the tension release already” after just one session. However, as the saying goes “Rome wasn’t built in day”… this pain did Not just manifest overnight and it won’t completely go away with one session. Like other massage sessions it may take several weekly sessions and then regular bi-weekly or monthly maintenance treatments will help manage the low-back pain. Schedule a low-back body work session today and get relief from low back pain. Find me on Facebook.
